Each year LIAA members have access to studios at the Sodas2123 cultural complex. In January and February of this year, two young generation artists worked in the studios: artist Kamil\u0117 Pikelyt\u0117 and digital culture researcher Ieva Gra\u017eyt\u0117.<\/span><\/p>\n

During her month-long residency, Pikelyt\u0117 began planning an upcoming exhibition in Reykjav\u00edk at \u201cb\u00f3kumb\u00f3k,\u201d an artist-run space and bookstore. She also created part of a costume for a performance using beaver teeth.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gra\u017eyt\u0117 prepared interviews and reviews for the artnews.lt platform and the cultural magazine \u201cLiterat\u016bra ir menas\u201d; she also wrote an artistic essay for \u201cArchitekt\u016bros fondas\u201d and two academic articles for her doctoral studies on Lithuanian cultural policy.<\/span><\/p>\n

The SODAS 2123 Cultural Complex is a space founded by the Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists\u2019 Union that operates on the principles of community and self-governance. It brings together several dozen cultural creators and researchers from various fields who experiment in their practices, explore unexpected formats, and respond to the latest cultural, social, geopolitical, and environmental issues.<\/span><\/p>\n
