Pompeii was discovered and with it was the museum, the circus, the antiquarian shop, the souvenir, and tourism, and so with them, the closet, the private box, the secret cabinet, the dark room, and the peephole. Young-girl lives on the edges of this Secret Museum, a series of architectural gestures, of topo-political techniques for regulating vision, pleasure and power.<\/p>\n

Architecture is archival. Sexuality is a secret archive. The archive is a sexual architecture [after Paul B. Preciado].<\/em><\/p>\n

Dorota Gaw\u0119da (PL) and Egl\u0117 Kulbokait\u0117 (LT) are an artist duo founded in 2013, living in Basel and Athens. In their work they address feminist inspired theory and fiction, technology\u2013driven emancipation and discursiveness of space. They are the founders of \u201cYOUNG GIRL READING GROUP\u201d (2013\u2013) and \u201cAgatha Valkyrie Ice\u201d (2014\u2013). With \u201cYOUNG GIRL READING GROUP\u201d Gaw\u0119da and Kulbokait\u0117 investigate the act of reading as an intimate experience, holding the potentiality to become public performance through the \u201coutlouding\u201d of words. \u201cAgatha Valkyrie Ice\u201d is a multi\u2013platform, participatory, self\u2013performance project and enquiry that functions as an artistic strategy to explore parallels in identity and artistic production. Dorota Gaw\u0119da and Egl\u0117 Kulbokait\u0117 have recently exhibited their work at 13th Baltic Triennial at the Contemporary Art Centre in Vilnius; Kunsthalle Basel; Institute of Contemporary Art in London; Art Athina; SMK\u2013 National Museum of Denmark in Copenhagen; 1.1, Basel; Kunstverein f\u00fcr die Rheinlande und Westfalen, D\u00fcsseldorf; Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw; SALTS, Basel; LISTE Performance Project; Berlin Biennale 9; CCS Bard, NY; Kunsthalle Zurich; Le Mus\u00e9e d\u2019Art moderne de la Ville de Paris among others. <\/p>\n
