Cultural centre SODAS 2123 participates in Vilnius Gallery Weekend programme and invites to visit artists\u2019 studios as well as a special program of events on September 9.<\/p>\n
OPEN SODAS is an event open for conversations, exchange of ideas, insights and creative energy. As a part of Vilnius Gallery Weekend programme, on the second Friday of September visitors are invited to experience artists\u2019 creative spaces by talking, touching, listening to stories about orchards and walking in the autumnal surroundings of SODAS 2123. The programme starts on Friday, 9 September at 5 p.m. at Vitebsko St. 21\/23, Vilnius.<\/p>\n
Ar\u016bnas Gudaitis, Laima Kreivyt\u0117 and Coolt\u016brist\u0117s, Gabriel\u0117 Gervickait\u0117, Aist\u0117 Laisv\u0117 Vir\u0161ulyt\u0117, SPONGE; Design studio \u201cAriel Ink\u201d, animation creators \u201cKadr\u0173 skyrius\u201d, publishing house \u201cHubris\u201d, \u201cGvalda Room\u201d (Design fund studio) will open their creative spaces and invite for a visit.<\/p>\n
Evening programme of events:<\/p>\n
All of the visitors are welcome to attend guided tours, which will give a chance to visit the open spaces consistently. The tour will start at the entrance of the \u201cAtletika\u201d gallery, 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
Au\u0161ra Vismantait\u0117 will complement the open studios programme with an even \u201cMalus Malus Malus\u201d:<\/p>\n
6 p.m. Domas Raibys will talk about the addiction to apples.<\/p>\n
7:30 Vita Opolskyt\u0117 Brazd\u017ei\u016bnien\u0117 will talk about apples in art history and their link to the eyeballs.<\/p>\n
8 p.m. Gra\u017evydas Jegelavi\u010dius will share thoughts and experiences about old orchards.<\/p>\n
Alt Lab, 3 floor.<\/p>\n
An installation by Sandra Kazlauskait\u0117 will be on view in the open studios (location to be clarified).<\/p>\n
We also invite you to visit Marija Nem\u010denko\u2018s exhibition \u201cIn the Hands of our Eclectic Physicians\u201d at the project space \u201cSwallow\u201d, 4 p.m. \u2013 7 p.m.<\/p>\n
As part of the OPEN SODAS programme, the Berlin-based artist Dovil\u0117 Aleksait\u0117’s exhibition \u201cWeather in Me\u201d opens at the \u201cAtletika\u201d gallery. A performance will take place on the opening night from 19:00.<\/p>\n
Vilnius Analogue Photography and Film Festival also participates in the programme and invites to attend slides evening \u201cTake a Walk\u201d at SODAS 2123 bar from 7 p.m. Authors of slides: Mykolas Piekuras, Marija Teres\u0117 Ro\u017eankskait\u0117 and Igoris Piekuras.<\/p>\n
The musical background of the event will be provided by Vytautas Ge\u010das, Indraja Vaitk\u016bnait\u0117 (\u201cBulv\u0117s \u017diedas\u201d) and \u201c\u012ekal\u010di\u0173 sl\u0117pimo agent\u016bra\u201d.<\/p>\n
OPEN SODAS event will be free of charge.<\/p>\n
Cultural centre SODAS 2123 (Vitebsko st. 21\/23, Vilnius) – is a space open to the public, initiated and curated by the Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists\u2019 Association (LIAA) on the principles of community and self-management.<\/p>\n
The event is organised by SODAS 2123 together with the Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists\u2019 Association. LIAA activities are funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture and Vilnius City Municipality.<\/p>\n
