On May 17, 2023, at 18:00, we invite you to Entity cultural space, located at the SODAS 2123 cultural centre, where the creative workshop \u201cSpace in Sound | Sound in space\u201d by Roberto Becerra will take\u00a0place.\u00a0This event is a part of “Blossom v1.2”.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sound is inherently linked to the physical space where it exists. We can think of sound-in-space and of space-in-sound, spatial sound, or in other words, the sound that creates the illusion of space. They all carry similar and overlapping concepts with differences in applications and representations. Through a conversation ranging from elementary topics on the matter to revisions of Roberto\u2019s and others\u2019 works, we will talk about sound in space, not only as a stereo consideration in music but also as creations in sound art and scattered ideas on the motivation for working on sound to create reality.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>The workshop \u201cSpace in Sound | Sound in space\u201d will lead participants over concepts, techniques, and practical applications of sound making\/processing to work and create with multichannel\/spatial sound and sound located in a physical space, with acoustics considered. This means an overview and hands-on experience with software tools such as Ableton, MaxMSP, Ambisonics plugins, and a little bit of code.<\/span><\/p>\n

Roberto Becerra is an artist, engineer, technologist, multidisciplinary artist, and sound maker. He is the co-founder of Ideas Block \u2013 Kompresorine cultural space in Vilnius, Lithuania, and Arttice culture platform. Roberto is also a developer and lecturer at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.<\/span>
