Hermandrowning, aka Evaldas Bubinas, is a multidisciplinary artist, professional graphic designer, painter, performer of audiovisual musical compositions and improvisations.
The point of attention in the creative process is the quest for new forms and the deformation of existent ones to render the contemporary subject’s search for identity.
“I see mutating relation between man and his environment into a process of trade of abstractions and symbols, while the details of reality lying beyond become rejected, vanishing. The plot is constructed by using primitivist shapes to describe mundane, sometimes surreal acts. Subjects are transparent, and some surroundings are missing, visible body parts become distorted, storylines become magical.”
Manoeuvring within these levels of experience with the practice of design, painting, making and reusing objects and materials, including the creation of music compositions I seek to find the boundaries where the details, part of reality, begin to dissolve. The aim is to research the environment, replace or/and adapt the missing parts prevalent within collective consciousness and arts, by visualising, storytelling the relevant situation of emptiness, disappearance or removal.
