Vaitekūnaitė Danutė

Danutė Vaitekūnaitė (b. 1998) is a visual artist and educator. Her practice combines installation, painting, sculpture, writing, design, video, performance and pedagogy. Danutė uses found materials and processes to investigate relationships between object, image, human and non-human, and systems that exploit human vulnerability.

Since 2021, her work has been exhibited in France (La Chaufferie, Syndicat Potentiel), the UAE (Jameel Arts Center, 421 Arts Campus, NYUAD Art Gallery) and Lithuania (Šiauliai Art Gallery, Pragiedruliai). She obtained an MFA from New York University Abu Dhabi and a BFA from La Haute École des Arts du Rhin in Strasbourg. She was the recipient of the Tarek Al Ghoussein Fellowship in 2023. Danutė currently manages educational programming at Šiauliai Art Gallery.
