Dobriakov Jurij
Jurij Dobriakov (b. 1983) is a researcher of contemporary culture, curator, and critic. He publishes various critical texts and essays in Lithuanian and international cultural publications and exhibition books. Regularly takes part in international conferences and symposia as well as publishing projects. He has curated several group exhibitions, including a retrospective of Lithuanian media art titled “Timestamps” at the National Gallery of Art in Vilnius (2021). His fields of interest include intersections of art and technology, mediated everyday culture, contemporary metamorphoses of traditional mythopoetics and ethnic culture, urban practices, and the relationship between nature and architecture. He is a member of the Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists’ Association and the Lithuanian Section of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA). In 2022 Dobriakov defended his doctoral dissertation in History and Theory of Arts titled “The Development of the New Media Art Discourse in Lithuania in the 1990s–2010s” at Vilnius Academy of Arts.
