Lavickaitė Augustina

In her practice, Augustina Lavickaitė uses visual research to explore media ecologies and the relationships between their components. She is interested in various modes of witnessing and remembering, particularly through nature and landscapes. Augustina’s projects are often connected to archiving, both as a source of material as well as a format. In her work, she seeks to give new and found material a relevant voice to tell stories.

After completing a Master’s degree in Information Design at the Design Academy Eindhoven, Lavickaitė has been developing an interdisciplinary creative practice centered on design research, exhibition-making, and artistic projects carried out in collaboration with partners such as the Nieuwe Instituut (Netherlands), Bundeskunsthalle (Germany), and Salone del Mobile (Italy). In 2024, she received the Young Designer Award from the Design Innovation Centre in Vilnius. Her work is supported by the Creative Industries Fund NL, Nordic Culture Point, Gemeente Rotterdam, the Bekker-la Bastide Fund, and the Cultuurfonds.
