#FAMM.BA.2026: Post-Truth, Pre-Nap

2026-05-27

On 28 May at 7 pm, the collective exhibition #FAMM.BA.2026 / Post-Truth, Pre-Nap opens at Atletika Gallery (Vitebsko 21, Vilnius). Conceived as the graduation show of the BA graduates of the Department of Photography, Animation and Media Art at Vilnius Academy of Arts, the exhibition continues the long-standing collaboration between the Department and the Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists’ Association, and will remain open until 20 June 2026.

The exhibition disperses across the city and spaces – the Atletika gallery, Studium P, Užupis Art Incubator and various spaces within the Academy itself. The feelings, symptoms, and explorations of 28 young media artists have resulted in a wide variety of works – ranging from intimate self-reflections and collective rituals to post-internet imagery and visions of the future.

In moving images, animation, virtual reality, artificial intelligence queries, sound compositions, objects, darkness, performance, and painted canvases, a state is formed, hovering in time between truth and sleep. Here, the world is no longer being repaired, only observed – with irony, fatigue, at times with fascination or wonder – abandoning the illusion that everything can still be resolved and controlled. Perhaps it is an attempt to find a way to get comfortable and stay within – accepting the fragmentation of identity, the technological noise, the fragility of mutual relationships, and the weight of personal experiences. The world is neither clear nor fair, but in that late state of being, between the glow of the screen and closing our eyes, we still wish sweet dreams and a see you.
