“Unlearning The Energy” workshop at Alt lab

2023-06-02

8 June, 7.30-9 p.m. the workshop “Unlearning The Energy” will take place at the Alt Lab space in the cultural centre SODAS 2123 (duration 1,5 hours).

Augusta Levickaitė, Eglė Agnė Benkunskytė and Tata Frenkel invite to come and learn about scientific concepts such as potential energy, electromagnetic induction, calories, Faraday cage, etc., through practical magic and one great story, which will be told by the three workshop leaders.

Tutors:
Augusta Levickaitė – Marine biologist, educator;
Eglė Agnė Benkunskytė – Art theorist, Curator at contemporary art space “Medūza”, educator;
Tata Frenkel – Artist, musician, educator.

Augusta, Eglė, Tata share an interesting common thing – energy. Sounds terrible and not so funny. Three of them are working as educators on energy transformations, physics, power plants and so on. Surprisingly, none of them are professionals in this very field – yet they are great storytellers and have an ability to teach, perceive or share knowledge by mesmerising with built narratives and talking methods. Aha-aha, sounds beautiful. With this workshop they plan on leaving their bubble of energy-talks to rethink and frame [conceptually] their work placing it in between disciplines, enchanting their experimental education into another new mental laboratory.
