Training in designing educational activities with the association Creative Connections

Association “Creative Connections” together with LIAA invites members of our Association to participate in a training session on 6 and 13 June to discuss the possibilities of setting up an educational activity and to provide advice for those who want to start their own educational activity.

During the two meetings in June

– We will explore creativity as a competence and the principles of creative learning;

– learning how to design an educational process that combines specific forms of creativity and competences and responds to the needs of participants;

– we will try to identify what learning opportunities we can offer to others.

Time: 6 and 13 June 2023, 5 p.m. – 8.30 p.m.

Venue: the cafe of the cultural centre SODAS 2123 (Vitebsko str. 23, Vilnius).

The training will be conducted by Milda Laužikaitė and Rūta Jakutė, facilitators from the association “Creative Connections”.

“Kūrybinės jungtys is an association that has been working in the field of creative learning for over a decade. The main principle of the organisation is to empower creative professionals from different fields to work in educational contexts.

Milda Laužikaitė is a creative learning programme developer and facilitator. Author of articles on cultural policy, political aspects of art, creative learning. As the initiator and leader of the national project “Creative Partnerships”, she has gained extensive experience in adapting the world-renowned programme to the Lithuanian context, working at various levels, from school-developer partnership to strategic management of the whole programme. Since 2016, she has been the head of the association “Creative Connections”, initiating ongoing partnerships of creative professionals with schools, cultural organisations and communities. She provides training for creative, cultural and educational professionals. She often represents the ideas of making culture and creativity accessible to the public and involving creatives in educational processes in public events and policy-making discussions in Lithuania and internationally.

Rūta Jakutė is a web designer and creative learning facilitator. She lived in Ireland for ten years, where she worked with start-ups and led community design sprints on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Since 2021, she has been working with the association “Creative Connections” as a facilitator, using design thinking and objects to unlock people’s creativity in training. She also works in Ireland and Argentina (www.kokono.ie) and is a member of the international maker community Design Science Studio.

Places are limited and priority is given to LIAA members, but other creators are welcome to register.

Please register those who can attend full time both times. The process is continuous, failure to participate fully on the first day will prevent you from engaging on the second day.

In autumn 2023, it is planned to extend this cycle with two more meetings, where participants will be accompanied by facilitators purifying a specific educational programme.

The training is organised by the Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists’ Association in cooperation with the association “Creative Connections”. This training is part of the LIAA educational programme. LIAA activities are funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture and Vilnius City Municipality.
