The Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists’ Association (LTMKS), together with the association Flusso, is pleased to announce the two artists and LTMKS members selected to participate in the 2026 “Archaeomythologies: Currents” residency programme in Puglia, Southern Italy – Ieva Kotryna Ski and Augustina Lavickaitė.
The artists will spend the month of October in residence in the town of Putignano, in the Puglia region, where they will have the opportunity to develop their artistic research, engage with the local archaeological, cultural and natural context, and take part in research trips and meetings with archaeologists, art historians and experts from other fields.
“Archaeomythologies” is an interdisciplinary art and research residency programme dedicated to the legacy of archaeologist Marija Gimbutas and her research in Southern Europe. The 2026 thematic strand, “Currents”, focuses on rivers and waterscapes as sites of memory, symbolism and ecological relations. Drawing on Gimbutas’ interdisciplinary approach, the programme explores how water has shaped human settlements, rituals, symbolic systems and cultural imagination from prehistory to the present day.
The residency programme is curated by Denisas Kolomyckis of the association Flusso. Applications submitted through the open call were evaluated by an international selection committee comprising independent curator, art critic and lecturer Ilaria Gianni, curator and cultural strategist Justė Kostikovaitė, and independent curator Louise O’Kelly.
The residency is organised by the association Flusso together with the Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists’ Association (LTMKS).
LTMKS activities are funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture.
About the participants
Ieva Kotryna Ski is a Lithuanian artist currently based in Paris. Her practice includes working with documentary film forms, text and audiovisual installations. Recent presentations of her work include the solo exhibition stonewashing at Editorial project space, Vilnius (2025); Preila Project installation at Pamario gallery, Juodkrante. Augustina Lavickaitė is a visual researcher using image, sound, and text to explore how witnessing and remembering take shape in objects and landscapes. Lavickaitė’s practice often uses archiving, both as a source of material and as a format: she collects new and found materials and (re)assembles them into narratives. Her work has been presented at Art Rotterdam, Salone del Mobile, Bundeskunsthalle Bonn, and Dutch Design Week. She received the Young Designer Award from Vilnius Academy of Arts in 2024 and participated in the 2026 ARCUS Project residency in Moriya, Japan. She collaborates with institutions including Nieuwe Instituut (NL) and her work is supported by Creative Industries Fund (NL), Nordic Culture Point (FI), and Cultuurfonds (NL).
