We invite you to a cycle of two lectures that will cover various sections of the artist’s communication. The artist as a brand and what challenges one faces in communicating. Are there any communication crises in the art field? How to prevent or to overcome them? How to not get lost in social networking channels and how to better reach your customer?

During these lectures we will talk about the essential principles of effective communication and the representation of ourselves. The duration of each meeting is about 1 hour. On December 9th 6 p.m. | Communication challenges and crises
– We will talk about the communication of art projects / exhibitions, what is important in communication with media, etc.
– The Integrity of communication channels in the context of the artist’s activity: how to make the right choices and prepare to communicate.
– The rampage of social networks, its real return and value.
– Communication crises also occur in the art, how to deal with them and how to avoid them.

– How to properly prepare material about yourself and your project.
– Self-positioning in public space.
– What is important while building your image.
– How to build connections and sell your ideas.

Karolina Tomkevičiūtė is an art critic, art consultant and communication expert. After graduating from art history, she has been actively involved in the contemporary art market processes and worked in parallel in the field of communication since 2009. Therefore, she has accumulated a versatile experience as an art market expert and as a communication professional.

She worked in the largest media channels: she was the editor of the 15min.lt portal, curated a show about visual arts on the LRT PLUS channel. From 2013 to 2017 she led the magazine DAILĖ. Karolina constantly takes care of the communication of various art projects or artists, consults private individuals or businesses about art acquisition or synergies with the art field.

Karolina represented Lithuanian galleries and artists at international and prestigious art fairs such as: “viennacontemporary”, “ArtDubai”, “ArtVerona”, “art KARLSRUHE”, “Positions Berlin”, etc.

From 2016 to 2019 she was the communication manager of the art fair “ArtVilnius” and took care of public relations and project implementation of the gallery “Meno niša”.

Since 2020, she has been a project evaluation expert at the Lithuanian Culture Council. The same year, together with Vilnius City Municipality and “JCDecaux Lietuva”, Karolina initiated outdoor galleries “Art Without a Roof” project. For the second year in a row, together with the CAC team, she has been curating the project “JCDecaux Award Communication”.
