The Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists’ Association together with Aleknaičiai Culture and Education Space (Akee) invites LIAA members to submit applications for the use of the creative studio for independent work in Akee’s space in Aleknaičiai, Pakruojis district in July 2024. Akee will invite the artist to participate in an open studio event at the end of their stay.
About Akee
Akee is a community initiative that is being developed in the Aleknaičiai village, in the Pakruojis district, on the site of a former school built in the late 1930s. Its goal is to enrich the discourse on Lithuanian and international culture related to non-urban areas and to create opportunities for cultural producers and researchers to implement socially responsible and site sensitive projects in non-urban areas. About the Studio Space
Duration of the use of studio: July 2024.
The selected participant will be provided with a 21 sqm living/working space without amenities. Showers and kitchens are located in the common areas, which will also be used by the other 4-6 artists currently in residence at Akee.

It is important to note that Akee is currently under renovation, so various construction or environmental works are also possible this July.
