ARVYDAS GRIŠINAS – THE FIRST ARTIST, LIAA MEMBER WORKING IN LIAA STUDIO IN CULTURAL CENTRE SODAS 2123 IN 2022

The Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists Association annually provides members with a creative study at the cultural centre SODAS 2123 to carry out creative activities and develop projects. At the beginning of 2022, Kaunas University of Technology researcher Arvydas Grišinas will be using LIAA creative study at the cultural complex SODAS 2123 to work on a new book under the title “Intuitive Politics”.

In the book, he will discuss, from an interdisciplinary perspective, the increasingly resilient links between political and performative processes, political ritualism, post-truth, and the materialization of the imagination that are evolving in the public and digital space. Grišinas was recently invited to submit a proposal to publish the book to Routledge, one of the largest academic publishers.

Arvydas Grišinas combines creative and scientific activities, is interested in the topics of political anthropology, visual culture, and post-Soviet Central and Eastern Europe. In 2015 he defended his doctorate in political science at the University of Kent. He had an Internship at Yale, Uppsala University, Institute of Humanities in Vienna. Grišinas is an Author of the book “Politics with a Human Face: Identity and Experience in Post-Soviet Europe”, academic, journalistic and artistic texts.

Cultural centre SODAS 2123 is a space founded by the Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists Association based on the principles of community and self-government, where more than a dozen cultural creators and researchers from different fields experiment and look for unexpected formats and respond to the latest cultural, social, geopolitical and ecological issues.
