Akvilė Anglickaitė “As soon as he touched the moss, power passed through into the forest, and the roots of trees turned into rivers”

Fingers are slowly sinking into a sticky void.
Surfaces rearrange themselves into planes.
And the circumstances have their own explanations.
– Would you find a soundtrack for that? A little bit of rhythm, undefined duration and timbre…
– Anything can happen?
– Even this.

Akvilė Anglickaitė is a visual artist, living and working in Vilnius. She uses and incorporates different media and genres in her work. Anglickaitė studied Photography and Media Arts in Vilnius Academy of Arts and in Plymouth University (UK). In 2017 Anglickaitė acquired a Phd of Fine Arts. Her work has been exhibited in numerous shows including X Baltic Triennial, one of her films was shown in De Appel center in Amsterdam. She also explores public as well as unconventional art spaces in her art practice. The artist frequently collaborates with artists from different fields. Vytautas V. Jurgutis compositions frequently accompany her installations.
