Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists’ Association (LIAA) is now welcoming exhibition/ project/ event proposal submissions from artists and curators for the upcoming year program. In 2019, LIAA is planning to organise 10 exhibitions of artists from Lithuania and abroad. The priority will be given to cooperative projects involving two participants or more.

For the second time, Vilnius Gallery Weekend’s satellite exhibition “DEPAS / DEPOT” invites you to visit the XIXth
century locomotive repair department as well as a suite – formerly tsar’s appartment – on the 2nd floor of Lentvaris railway
station. On the 8th and 9th of September six artists will be presenting works that were created or adapted particularly for
these places.

“Canned Laughter” – a group exhibition composed of a selection of works by Tomas Eller (Vienna), David Muth (Turku/Vienna) and Axel Stockburger (Vienna). The show is concerned with the forces of expansion and normalisation, which accompany contemporary forms of globalisation.

The space is filled with moving, shining and sound producing artificial creatures. Looking separately, each creature may seem cute; it could resemble a toy, an animal from a children cartoon or a fairy tale book. However, all of the beasts move chaotically together and produce a heavily noise filled environment.

Contemporary art is back from holidays!
Gallery weekends have been happening across different cities in Europe and the World for decades now, usually taking place at the same time as first exhibition openings after summer, thus marking the beginning of the new season of arts in the city.
