with (local, root) Indo-European culture. At the same time, these works come from the author’s empirical research
(experience), personal relationship with time/place/culture under study.

Interdisciplinarity manifests itself by different symbioses. In her work, artist Aistė Kisarauskaitė combines classical artistic disciplines with her interest in plants. It wouldn’t be an error to call Aistė a botanist, though in the plant world she seeks to find answers to the quesions raised by contemporary art in particular.

Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists’ Association (LIAA) is now welcoming exhibition/ project/ event proposal submissions from artists and curators for the upcoming year program. In 2019, LIAA is planning to organise 10 exhibitions of artists from Lithuania and abroad. The priority will be given to cooperative projects involving two participants or more.

For the second time, Vilnius Gallery Weekend’s satellite exhibition “DEPAS / DEPOT” invites you to visit the XIXth
century locomotive repair department as well as a suite – formerly tsar’s appartment – on the 2nd floor of Lentvaris railway
station. On the 8th and 9th of September six artists will be presenting works that were created or adapted particularly for
these places.
