The 3 rd Vilnius Gallery Weekend invites you to turn up the contemporary art’s volume

Vilnius Gallery Weekend launches a new contemporary art exhibition season in the
capital city this fall. The events – new exhibitions openings, meetings with artists,
concerts and discussions – will be happening around town as well as on its outskirts
from the 6 th to the 9 th of September in overall 27 different galleries and other artistic
venues.

Between cinema and contemporary art: Julian Rosefeldt

From 4 March to 21 May at Nikolaj Kunsthal in Copenhagen, Denmark will be displayed the retrospective exhibition by German video artist Julian Rosefeldt including works from 2001 to 2016.

In the first five triptychs Julija Tamulevičiūtė shows one of the major works by Rosefeldt called  “Asylum” (2001).

What my father put inside my vagina?

From 2 February to 31 March at the Artwall Gallery in Prague will be displayed the exhibition “Some things my father put inside my vagina” by Alma Lily Rayner accompanied by a series of public discussions. The exhibition consists of a series 3D objects which refers to the long-term sexual abuse experienced by the artist in her childhood. Within Lithuanian audience, as well as Czech, this type of personal confession appears for the first time.

Under the skin

Experimental music and contemporary art project called “Under the skin” was presented on 9 November at the dance club “Kablys”. The leading artists were Norwegian composer Maja Solveig Kjelstrup Ratkje and Lithuanian visual artist Kristina Inčiūraitė. Other participants: chorus “Gaudeamus” and “Pro musica”, choirmaster Rasa Gelgotienė, sound director Alius Bareckas.

New and nice flooring for “Titanic” by Egle Grebliauskaite
