Guided exhibition tour with Andrėja Šaltytė

A guided tour with Artist Andrėja Šaltytė will take place at Atletika Gallery on Saturday, 18 December, at 4 pm during which she will introduce the process of creating her most recent exhibition “Kyiv Tongue” currently running at the gallery. On the same day, 18 December, from 1 to 8 pm a festive event “Rasos Jumble Bazaar” will take place at cultural centre SODAS 2123, where the gallery is located. We are happy to have this opportunity to invite everyone to SODAS 2123 at this time of year!

Vilnius Gallery Map to be updated to offer thematic routes

LTMKS launches an initiative to update the mobile app “_VA”, which promotes access to art and cultural communication. The app is a map of Vilnius galleries that will help you keep track of all the events taking place in the capital’s galleries and exhibition spaces and allow you to recommend them to others.

Inga Galinytė / Jurga Juodytė in Lithuanian Videospritz at Trieste Contemporanea

Trieste Contemporanea presents Lithuanian Videospritz, a two-day event with the artists Inga Galinytėand Jurga Juodytė. The project, curated by Daniele Capra, compares the research of the two artists starting from the practice of performance and dance, to analyse more intimate and at the same time political themes linked to the body, to the assigned roles and to the forms of social interaction.

The premiere of Milda Laužikaitė’s and Pranas Gudaitis’ piece ‘Microsuccession’ via ‘Rasu radijas’

On 2 December, 9 pm ‘Rasu radijas’ will broadcast the premiere of Milda Laužikaitė’s and Pranas Gudaitis’ piece ‘Microsuccession’. The creation of this work was funded by Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists’ Association 2021 grant programme.

Andrėja Šaltytė: Kyiv Tongue

From 9 December 2021, Atletika gallery will present a solo exhibition of artist Andrėja Šaltytė – a film installation Kyiv Tongue. The opening of the exhibition will take place on 8 December from 5 to 8 pm, including a tour around the show with the artist at 6 pm.

Project “Lavkė. Slow and sandy expedition” presentation at cultural centre SODAS 2123

On 7 December 2021, at 18:00, the art initiative Verpėjos, together with the Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists’ Association and cultural centre SODAS 2123 invites you to the presentation of the project Lavkė.Slow and sandy expeditionat SODAS 2123 (Vitebsko Str. 23, Vilnius). Artists who took part in the expedition will present their projects – Andrej Polukord, Dovilė Bagdonaitė, Pojūčių teatras(Karolina Žernytė, Šarūnė Pečiukonytė, Saulė Norkutė), Gabrielė Vetkinaitė, Agota Zdanavičiūtė, and Živilė Lukšytė – as well as project curator and coordinator team – Laura Garbštienė, Danutė Gambickaitė, Lina Rukevičiūtė, Indrė Liškauskaitė.

Lina Lapelytė and Salomėja Petronytė in exhibition “Vorsprung durch Technik” closing event: an evening with a song “Audi Vis” and the Choir of Vilnius Academy of Arts

On 26 November, the last day of the exhibition “Vorsprung durch Technik”, a closing event will take place at Atletika gallery. A song titled “Audi Vis” will be performed by the Choir of Vilnius Academy of Arts, arranged by exhibiting artists Lina Lapelytė (member of LIAA) and Salomėja Petronytė.

Programme of performances, screenings and open studios during X-disciplinary Congress on Artistic Research

On October 15-16, 2021 a programme of performances, screenings and open studios will be presented as part of the international congress “To Research or Not To Research in the Post-disciplinary Academy?”. It is jointly organized by the Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists’ Association (LTMKS), the cultural centre SODAS 2123, the doctoral department of the Vilnius Academy of Arts and the moderator dr. Vytautas Michelkevičius together with the curator dr. Akvilė Anglickaitė. The congress is being organized on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of doctoral studies in art in Lithuania.

Presentation of Paulina Pukytė’s book “Something Is” and a tour of the exhibition

On 8 October, 7 p.m. the presentation of Paulina Pukytė’s book “Something Is” (Artseria, 2021) will take place. This presentation is organized at gallery “Atletika” (Vitebsko str. 21, Vilnius), on the occasion of Paulina Pukytė’s solo exhibition “It Is In A Certain Sense A Nightmare”. Art critic and chairman of LTMKS Danutė Gambickaitė, art critic Saulė Mažeikaitė will take part in the presentation of the book.

At 6:30 p.m., before the presentation of the book, Paulina Pukytė will invite everyone interested for a tour of her exhibition.

Artist Antonina Nowacka in residency at SODAS 2123

Antonina Nowacka is a Polish sound artist, best known for being part of the duo WIDT. She works mainly with the voice, treating it as an instrument and its relationship to spirituality and the outside world. Her work has been released on the Polish label Mondoj and Takuroku.
